Comments from the District Governor Elect

There are four things I would like to say to the Lions of District 12-L.

First, let me say thank you to the Lions of District 12-L for making our Spring Convention a

huge success but mostly I say thank you for the confidence you have shown in me by

electing me as your next District Governor.

Second, as I said at convention; "Our motto is not I serve but We Serve." I look forward to serving with all the

lions in District 12-L.

Third, I look forward to meeting the lions of our fine district while making club visits and working with you on

various local and district projects. Fourth, I welcome all suggestions on forming new clubs and retaining

current members and adding new members. We need to be seeking our new members in unconventional ways.

We need to be looking at the younger singles and couple, with and without families and coming up with ideas to

keep our meetings interesting and make sure we have the projects needed to keep our members on the active

list.

I ask each of you for help in turning 12-L upside down.

Please send your officers.

There will be a contest for the club traveling the farthest distance, the club with the most in attendance,

the Zone chair with the most officers attending from their zone. We will also be showing you how to

file your MMR and PU 101 online; for the clubs that use or would like to use the internet to file your

paperwork.

Officer training will be available for all Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers & Zone Chairpersons. 1st

and 2nd Vice Presidents are also encouraged attend and get the Presidents training; for those times

when they will need to fill in for a vacationing president.

Silent Auction

There will be a silent auction during our Fall Conference again this year. We need auction items. The

money raised from this auction will help send Lions to leadership training. Please bring items and

come prepared to bid on other items.
